I will be shocked if Gazdic isn't in. Stauffer went out of his way yesterday(?) to tweet about his history with Kassian.

As for the blogger thing the only reason Lebrun said anything was to put to bed such a horrible basement rumor. McKenzie has done so in the past. As for Dreger, I like him, but he has another agenda when it comes to Toronto intel. |

Just because Dreger is Nonis' cousin the rumours originate from the Leafs' camp? That's quite the leap in logic but your just a basement blogger, right? Considering the fact this has hit a nerve for you therefore it must be true. See what I just did there? If you ever want respectability as a writer you have to earn it and be more rational. As a blogger this is the reality you live in don't take it so personally. |

Bloggers are in tough spots, there is a reason why people dismiss them right away even the good ones.

Bob Stauffer @Bob_Stauffer 6m
In Ottawa I will be most interested to see how Yakupov does on a line with RNH and Eberle. Dallas Eakins has put YAK in position to succeed
In all fairness it's not like him being with Perron and RNH wasn't the same. Problem now is we have Yak on his left side. |

Dreger is Nonis' cousin - have you lost it??
Bottom line & Oiler fans can say what they want - this team lacks defense & goaltending, always has & Dubynk is NOT at legit #1 goalie but for some reason, most Oiler fans deem him as one. Hell some even say he should get an invite to play for Team Canada at the Olympics, others last year said they wouldn't trade Dubey for Quick(what a joke that was).
Bottom line, J Schultz is terrible in his own end like most others on the team so if you don't want to move one of the top young forwards & change the dynamic of the team, then sit in the basement & continue to pick in the top 5 or first overall - it's really not getting you anywhere!! |

Matt Henderson: G8: Oilers @Senators: Messages From The Basement
The Oilers take on the Senators and try to end the freefall they are in. Yakupov rumors are addressed by the coach. Eakins switches Yak to the Left side. Good move? - Matt_Henderson
Hey Matt, you were kidding when you said Dreger is Nonis' cousin - right?? Because if you weren't, i'd like to know how they're connected?? |

I think that the Leafs won't trade Reimer for Yakupov because they are comfortable with their top 6 and they are uncomfortable with the goaltending situation despite strong player from Bernier. |

They won't make the trade, because Edmonton isn't offering them Yak |

I agree 100% but only more the reason a blogger must transcend that bullpoop if they want to enter the realm of being taken seriously. It's getting there but there's much work left to do. Taking offense to what MSM may say or to their attacks only weakens a blogger's positioning.
Just keep writing what you know Matt which for the moment seems to be hockey and the Oilers. Leave the conjecture to the petty and egotistical. They attack simply because they are afraid and jealous of the power of blogs (considering its followership) and that you can stick in your back pocket for the rainy days.

The "prestige" of print media vs blogging is starting to diminish. People are figuring it out it is not the platform in which the writer is using, it is content that is important. |

Bloggers will never be taken seriously as long as their is as many anonymous sites as there is and anonymous people. The bad are wrecking it. This site for instance has done a lot of damage especially in the rumor department. |

I still fail to see why this is a "blogger" problem. Each writer should be evaluated by the reader on an individual basis. And if they aren't, that is the readers loss. The absolute best stuff out there is done by bloggers. |

Historically Ottawa stinks in afternoon games. I'd wager the Oil can grab a point or two here. |

The way she goes. Why do East Indians get lumped into one group because of a few idiots?
The way the world works. As a blogger you have to work harder to change people's minds. |

I cannot believe that MacT is not able to put a package together to get either Anderson or Lehner out of Ottawa.
Lehner is better than Bishop, by a lot. But, look at what Bishop is doing for Tampa.

i doubt murray will trade lehner. if edm has to drastically overpay, i suggest going another route for goaltending help. |

He could, but is Yak or Eberle, or Petry/Schultz + good prospect worth it? I don't think you're getting Lehner out of there for much less.
I don't know what Anderson would cost but its generally not a good bet to give up a solid player or two for non-elite goalies. Smid or N. Schultz plus something nice like a 1st round pick if Ottawa adds on their end. That's probably what'll it take because they don't have much of a reason to break up a goalie tandem that's been crucial to their success. |
